Tyla Has Us Outside All Summer Long With New Song ‘Is It’: Stream It Now

Tyla is preparing the soundtrack for this summer, starting with her new single “Is It,” which dropped Friday (July 11).

“Is it wrong that I wanna get right/ Wanna get right with you?” she bellows in the chorus with background chanting vocals from the sparkly teaser clip she posted on Instagram earlier this week.

The South African star told Billboard that she was “not saying too much” about new music ahead of her hosting gig at the 2025 Kids’ Choice Awards in June, when she also favorite global music star. “You guys are gonna know when you’ll know. And it’s gonna be a vibe. We outside. We’re catching party vibes,” she said at the time, adding that she had “fun” recording “Everything Goes With Blue” from the Smurfs Movie Soundtrack. “I love The Smurfs. And Rihanna being Smurfette, it’s such a fun Smurf movie. So I’m happy that I’m a part of that one.”

“Is It” is Tyla’s second solo single this year following “Bliss,” which reached No. 11 on Hot R&B Songs and No. 14 on Rhythmic Airplay. She first teased the single at her debut Coachella performance in April, when she also performed the Billboard Global 200 top 10 hit “Show Me Love” alongside fellow South African rapper WizTheMC for the first time. It’s unclear if “Bliss” and “Is It” will be featured on her forthcoming sophomore album that she first teased to Billboard in her Women in Music interview earlier this year.

“I’ve changed a lot in a short amount of time because I was kind of forced to with how fast I had to adapt to everything,” she said at the time. “I don’t think it’s going to be the same energy [as Tyla] at all, especially with what I’ve started making. It’s different, but also still Tyla.”
