TRNSMT Festival moves to June as new dates revealed for 2026

TRNSMT Festival have announced their dates for 2026, revealing that they have moved to an earlier weekend in June.

The event is Scotland’s largest music festival and it has been held at Glasgow Green since 2017, with its regular slot having fallen more often than not in early or mid-July.

That will change in 2026, however, when TRNSMT runs from Friday June 19 to Sunday June 21. Up to 150,000 music fans are expected to descend upon the festival site across the three days.

As well as the main stage, TRNSMT also takes in the iconic King Tut’s venue in central Glasgow and also hosts live music on the BBC Introducing Stage, as well as The Hangout, two dance stages and The Reset area, offering fans a chance to meet artists at the BBC Radio 1 photobooth.

Geoff Ellis, the TRNSMT festival director, has said: “TRNSMT is always evolving and it’s all about giving fans, artists and the city the best possible experience. There is no better way to kick off summer than with an incredible weekend of live music and that unbeatable Scottish crowd.”

The line-up announcement for 2026 and the ticket on-sale dates will be announced soon.

TRNSMT 2025 featured headline performances from 50 Cent, Biffy Clyro and Snow Patrol, while other artists on the bill included Fontaines D.C., The Script, Gracie Abrams, Inhaler, Confidence Man, The Kooks, JADE, The Lathums, Wet Leg, Jamie Webster, Twin Atlantic, Jake Bugg, Sigrid, Wunderhorse, Underworld, Shed Seven and Nina Nesbitt.

It was also due to feature a set from Kneecap, but that was ultimately cancelled over “safety concerns”, while Mo Chara’s terror charge was being conducted by the Metropolitan Police.

Instead, the Irish rap trio organised a replacement show in Glasgow in the days before the festival, where they hit out at the First Minister of Scotland John Swinney for his call for their removal from the festival’s line-up.

Other headliners of TRNSMT over the years have included Radiohead, Stormzy, Pulp, Liam Gallagher, The 1975 and Arctic Monkeys.
