Tom Odell has announced his seventh album ‘A Wonderful Life’, and shared details of a 2025 UK and European tour. Find all the details below.

The singer-songwriter is due to release the 10-track record on September 5, following on from last year’s ‘Black Friday’. Pre-order/pre-save here.
Having already previewed the project with opener ‘Don’t Let Me Go’, Odell has today (May 23) shared another taste of the LP with his new single ‘Don’t Cry, Put Your Head On My Shoulder’.
The song finds the musician in a stripped-back sonic space, his hushed vocals backed by raw guitar and drums. ‘Don’t Cry…’ tells the story of one of Odell’s friends mired in strife, and the difficulties of learning how best to help them.
“You’re doing your best, and what more can you do?” he asks in one verse, before delivering a hopeful and reassuring message in the bridge: “You know, I think that you are gonna be alright/ You’re gonna be alright.”

Per a press release, the songs on ‘A Wonderful Life’ delve into the “human existence that is, at its core, messy and convoluted and never just one thing”.
Odell explained: “I wish I could wrap it up into a nice little bow of what the mood and the message is, but these songs are the antithesis of that.
“To live, and to write honestly about it, is such a profoundly important part of my life now. And I feel like if I have any duty whatsoever, it’s just to continue to do that.”
The forthcoming album was written on tour buses and trains over a nine-month period in 2024, and contains “some of the most direct and affective moments of his career so far”. It was penned, partly, as a real-time reaction to the harrowing news cycle and “the sense, almost every week, that the world is ending in some capacity – which it is, for some people”, said Odell.
Speaking about the process of perfecting the lyrics, the artist continued: “I laboured over every line. I went in on those words every day, on every plane journey, just refining and refining and refining.
“I can be a bit obsessive, and the obsessive part of me is probably the worst part of me and the bit that I would pay so much money for a therapist to tell me how to lose. But it’s also the bit that does not give up on songs.”

Additionally, Odell has shared details of a UK and European arena tour for this autumn – which will follow his current support slots with Billie Eilish.
The UK leg consists of shows in Cardiff, Dublin, Belfast, Glasgow and Manchester, ahead of a huge concert at The O2 in London. From there, Odell will head to Europe for gigs in Paris, Cologne, Amsterdam, Oslo, Stockholm and many other cities.

Tomorrow (May 24), Odell will make an appearance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend at Liverpool’s Sefton Park along with the likes of Sam Fender, Wolf Alice and Blossoms. Next month, he’ll return to Glastonbury for a set on the Woodsies stage.
Odell has North American headline shows booked for this year too, as well as some summer gigs in Europe.
