Little is known about Liverpool rapper EsDeeKid, given he remains anonymous and has  only ever been seen sporting a balaclava. Since dropping his album ‘Rebel’ this summer, fans have been clamouring to work out the musician’s identity, with many recently sharing theories that he was actually Chalamet.

The rising UK artist raps with a distinctive Scouse accent and takes influence from the UK grime and drill scenes, and is best recognised for tracks ‘LV Sandals’, ‘Phantom’ and ‘4 Raws’.

Putting the speculation about EsDeeKid’s identity to bed after Chalamet promised that “all will be revealed in due time”, the Marty Supreme star has jumped on an unexpected remix of the latter track. In a clip shared to social media, Chalamet raps: “Got model bitches in Peckham / I’m riding rentals in Wrexham.”

Seemingly referencing girlfriend Kylie Jenner, he goes on to rap: “It’s Timothée Chalamet chilling/ Trying to stack 100 million /Girl got a billion.”

It’s the latest move on the Marty Supreme press tour that has seen Chalamet make waves with UK audiences, ahead of the Boxing Day release of his ping-pong epic. Another notable moment was his shoutout to Susan Boyle, who he named as a British figure worthy of a Marty Supreme jacket.

The star has also partnered with clothing brand Nahmias to design merch inspired by the film, including a branded jacket that he has sent to celebrities he considers to be “great” (via Pause).

While speaking to BBC News, Chalamet named Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, Victoria and David Beckham, and underground rapper Fakemink as his favourite British celebrities. He then name-checked Boyle, saying: “She dreamt big – she dreamt bigger than all of us.”

The singer then responded, saying: “Those early days were quite something, and to know that moment meant something to you all these years on truly humbles me.”

Marty Supreme has earned a glowing five-star review from NME. “The direction is so frenetic that it somehow makes table tennis even more thrilling than the rubber-burning race scenes in F1, while there are at least three jaw-dropping set-pieces that Safdie lands on you like gleefully delivered trick shots,” wrote Jordan Bassett.

“This is a story about living a great life, however you may define that. It is a film about living fully and without fear, a cynicism-free zone where, for all their fast-talking, people love each other so much it makes your heart feel like it’s about to burst. Talk about a smash.”

As for EsDeeKid, the rapper will be heading out on a North American and Australian tour, and he will also be joining IDLES, Amyl & The Sniffers, JPEGMAFIA, and more in opening for Deftones at London’s Outbreak Fest 2026.
