The Weeknd and Anitta Mark Halloween With Body Horror-Inspired ‘São Paulo’ Video

“Wanted this out before Halloween! Need you sweating in your costumes to this shit,” singer says of latest Hurry Up Tomorrow visual

Just in time for Halloween, the Weeknd has shared the new video for “São Paulo,” a collaboration with Anitta and the latest single off his upcoming album Hurry Up Tomorrow.

“Wanted this out before Halloween! Need you sweating in your costumes to this shit,” Abel Tesfaye wrote on social media upon the video’s release.

The body horror-inspired visual sees a pregnant Anitta — wearing an Eyes Without a Face-style mask — walking around the titular Brazilian city with her baby bump exposed. However, things get eerie over the course of the Freeka Tet-directed video as Anitta’s baby bump develops an external mouth, which sings “São Paulo” as Anitta gyrates around.

Earlier in the week, Anitta teased the creepy video with a fake sonogram on social media:

The Weeknd and Anitta previously debuted “São Paulo” at the singer’s one-night-only concert event in the Brazilian city, where he also premiered other tracks from Hurry Up Tomorrow, the third installment in an album trilogy that includes After Hours and Dawn FM; Tesfaye has previously shared the singles “Dancing in the Flames” and “Timeless” featuring Playboi Carti from the album.

While the Weeknd has already shared three singles from the album and has the LP available for preorder, a release date for Hurry Up Tomorrow has not been announced.
