The Streets have announced three new dates where they will perform their seminal 2004 album ‘A Grand Don’t Come For Free’ in its entirety.
The Birmingham rap outfit, led by Mike Skinner, achieved the peak of their success with their second LP, a rap opera following a single running narrative surrounding a breakup and £1,000 in lost cash. It led to several hit singles including ‘Fit But You Know It’, ‘Blinded By The Lights’, and ‘Dry Your Eyes’, the latter becoming their first and, to date, only number one single.
The album itself also reached number one in the UK, certified four times platinum with over a million copies sold, and is remembered as one of the best albums of the decade, coming in at number 16 in NME’s list from that period.
This summer, The Streets played a string of live UK dates where they would perform the album in full, with concerts at Dreamland in Margate, London’s Alexandra Palace Park, and Ludlow Castle among others. Following the success of these performances, three further gigs have been announced for November.
A stop at Southend Cliffs Pavilion is followed by a homecoming date at Birmingham’s O2 Academy (their final date in the city this year), with the trio of shows ending at Cardiff Depot. Full dates are below, tickets will be on sale Friday (September 4) at 10am and will be available here.

Also in November, Mike Skinner and co will be performing at this year’s Iceland Airwaves in Reykjavik. They will be joined at the three-day event by Shygirl, Adult DVD, and many more.
