The Rolling Stones’ Release Date for ‘Foreign Tongues’ Deluxe Edition

Foreign Tongues, Loose Lips will be released on November 27 with five additional songs including “Bad Luck Hideaway”

The Rolling Stones have more to say. On Nov. 27, the band will release Foreign Tongues, Loose Lips, the deluxe edition of their 25th studio album, Foreign Tongues, released earlier this year.

The Loose Lips addition to the album will expand the original track list with five songs, including the previously exclusive iTunes bonus track “Bad Luck Hideaway.” The other four songs — “Where There’s a Will,” “She Still Comes Around,” “Who You Callin’ Crazy,” and “Human Tide” — will be available for the first time. The new tracks will also be pressed as a standalone vinyl edition to accompany previously released editions of Foreign Tongues.

The Rolling Stones teamed up with producer Andrew Watt for Foreign Tongues, Loose Lips following their collaboration on 2023’s Grammy-winning Hackney Diamonds. ”I’ve said it before, but it’s like working for Batman,” Watt told Rolling Stone last year prior to the announcement of the LP. “When the tongue is up in the air, you just go… I can say we did some recording together, but that’s all I can say.”

The producer previously emphasized the extend of his fandom for the band, saying, “If I revealed how many Rolling Stones concerts I’ve been to, I don’t think the band would ever talk to me again. I’ve seen them in the rafters. I’ve seen them up close. I’ve lived this band as a fan. I wore a different Stones shirt in the studio every day. I should’ve been ejected from the control room. The number one thing I would tell the band in the studio is, ‘You took a freak from behind the barricade and let him produce the album.’”

In a review of Foreign Tongues, Rolling Stone wrote, “The album sounds a little overly slick at times, but mostly Foreign Tongues stays faithful to the Stones’ signature sound, or at least Watts’ idea of how the Stones should sound … Jagger’s voice is a modern marvel, sounding as good as it did 40 years ago; he even sings ‘You Know I’m No Good’ in a higher key than Winehouse did. And Richards’ and Wood’s ‘ancient art of weaving’ yields dense textures, especially on ‘Ringing Hollow,’ that allow each of them to step out here and there with guitar showcases.”
