The Molotovs follow up Sex Pistols support slot with debut single ‘More More More’

The Molotovs have shared their anthemic debut single ‘More More More’ following their recent Sex Pistols support slot.

Produced by Jason Perry (Don Broco, Trash Boat) and mixed/mastered by Blair Crichton of Dead Pony, the energetic track features a bright guitar riff and rolling bass line reminiscent of early 2000s UK indie rock such as The Libertines.

“Whoa / All you want is more more more / Yea / Cause I’m quite sure that you don’t really care,” sings frontman and guitarist Mathew Cartlidge during the track’s rowdy chorus. A press release shared that ‘More More More’ is a “rallying cry for the restless, capturing the pursuit of fleeting pleasures while questioning whether doing less might mean more.”

Directed by Nico Beyer, the song’s accompanying video sees Cartlidge and his sister and Molotovs’ bassist Issey running down a tube station in suits and performing the song in front of a wall of lights on a stage.

Speaking about the song in a press release, Mathew shared: “It’s about existing in a transient relationship that you feel indifferent about. Filling up time with drinking and partying to distract you from the mundane boredom of life, covering up for lack of personality, and deep down knowing you want more.”

He also opened up about the band’s influences and shared: “Musically, our influences stem from greats like The Jam, Green Day, and the Sex Pistols. Sonically, we aimed for the band to reflect our adoration of the late 70s and early ‘80s new wave/mod revival.”

The release of ‘More More More’ comes two days after The Molotovs supported the Sex Pistols with Frank Carter at Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust this past Monday (March 24).

The Molotovs will embark on their ‘All You Want Is Tour Tour Tour’ 2025 UK headlining tour tonight (March 26) with a show in Birmingham’s Sunflower Lounge. From there, the duo will make stops in Bedford, York, Nottingham, Liverpool, Exeter, Leeds and will wrap up with a show at Scala in London.
