The Kooks Unveil North American Dates of All Over the World Tour

The Kooks announced the North American leg of their All Over the World Tour this summer. The band will embark on their trek following the release of their upcoming album Never/Know on May 9.

The 16-show tour will launch in Montreal followed by a concert in Toronto, before heading to the U.S. and stopping in cities across the country including New York, Washington, Atlanta, Chicago, and Los Angeles before concluding in Seattle in June.

The Kooks will be joined by lovelytheband, who they collaborated with on the track “Jeanie” and will open for the band. Tickets will be available for purchase beginning Valentine’s Day, Feb 14 at 10 a.m. local time.

“We made some of the greatest memories as a band on our last US tour and ever since we’ve been counting the days till we can return,” the Kooks frontman and songwriter Luke Pritchard said in a statement. “This time with lovelytheband and playing material from our new album, it’s going to be magic. We can’t wait to see you all out on the road.”

When discussing Never/Know, Pritchard describes its title track as “a love song about a cute meet with someone unpredictable,” adding, “I like the idea of it being played in a convertible on a road trip somewhere ridiculous. Because really, you never know.”

The 11-track album was born out of a desire to reconnect with the Kooks’ “roots of our influences and asking, ‘What is the identity of this band?’”

Although the project began with Pritchard — who self-produced most of the songs with the exception of “Echo Chamber,” which was produced by J Lloyd — he would later be joined by guitarist Hugh Harris in the studio. “At the heart of it, we both want the same thing, and that’s very powerful,” said Harris.
