The internet is loving Pedro Pascal and Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘SNL’ sketch: “I need a minute”

The internet has been responding to Pedro Pascal and Sabrina Carpenter’s recent appearance in the 50th-anniversary episode of Saturday Night Live.

The two came together for a collaboration in the milestone episode, and starred in a ‘Vow renewal’ sketch that saw the hitmaker reviving the show’s viral ‘Domingo’ sketch, paying a musical tribute at her friend’s vow renewal.

During the speech, which she and other bridesmaids sang in the style of the Wicked hit ‘Defying Gravity’, Carpenter unveiled a number of secrets that took place ahead of the wedding, including the affair that the bride, Kelsey, had been having with fan-favourite character Domingo.

It also came as Carpenter got involved in the joke late last year – using a segment of her ‘Short N’ Sweet’ live shows to jokingly “arrest” the Domingo character, played by Marcello Hernández.

Elsewhere in the SNL50 sketch, things went one step further as the groomsmen – played by Bowen Yang, Andy Samberg, Kyle Mooney, and Beck Bennett – also used a musical speech to unveil some more secrets. In a spin-off of Carpenter’s hit track ‘Espresso’, the four of them announced that the groom, played by Andrew Dismukes, had a fling with old flame Ronaldo, played by Pedro Pascal.

From there, the Mandalorian star joined in on the musical tributes, revealing that he is the brother of Domingo, and they are also related to Santiago. The latter is a character played by Bad Bunny, who has his own history with the bride’s mother.

Check it out above, where guest appearances are also seen from Molly Shannon and Martin Short.

Unsurprisingly, the segment has gone down a storm with viewers at home, with many taking to social media to share their thoughts on the Carpenter and Pascal collab.

“IM SCREAMING this was the best thing ever,” one viewer wrote on X/Twitter, responding to the star-studded sketch. Another added, “YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME,” while sharing footage from the night, while a third wrote: “I need a minute”.

Elsewhere during the milestone episode, Carpenter joined Paul Simon for a rendition of ‘Homeward Bound’, and other performances came from Miley Cyrus, Lil Wayne and Paul McCartney. The latter closed the weekend of celebrations with a medley performance featuring songs from ‘Abbey Road’, which marked his fifth time performing on the show.

Ahead of the show, the celebration weekend began on Friday (February 14) with a 50th-anniversary concert that saw the remaining members of Nirvana reunite with Post Malone on vocal duties.

As well as that, David Byrne also joined Robyn for a rendition of ‘Dancing On My Own’, Jack White covered Neil Young and Lady Gaga teamed up with Andy Samberg for a surprise medley of Lonely Island hits.
