The Cure, The 1975, Geese, Fontaines D.C., Nick Cave and more have made contributions to a new ‘Good Energy’ exhibition held by Teenage Cancer Trust.
The new exhibition will be displayed at the historic Royal Albert Hall in London between March 18 and April 9, and consist of a series of prints.
The collection is designed to capture the visceral sense of connection at live shows, and the deep bond that artists build with their fans in these settings. It also works to explore the emotional core of live music, and position the “mosh pit” not as a place of chaos, but as a sanctuary of safety and community.
There are 21 limited-edition silk screen prints that will be on display, and the images have been personally selected by iconic acts including The 1975, Geese, Fontaines D.C., Wolf Alice, Yungblud, Nick Cave, Nia Archives, Keane, Sex Pistols feat Frank Carter, The Big Moon, The Snuts, Courteeners, Bring Me The Horizon, Enter Shikari, Elbow and more.
It captures fleeting moments of them on stage, and the photographers featured include Niall Lea, Jez Pennington, Tom Pallant, Peter Neill, Jordan Curtis Hughes, Tanya Hanley, Andrew Whitton, Aaron Parsons, Harriet T K Bols, and more.
The exhibition comes in time for the annual Teenage Cancer Trust charity gigs, which sees The Cure icon Robert Smith stepping up as curator in place of The Who frontman and charity patron Roger Daltrey.
The Cure have long been supporters of TCT, having played now-legendary fundraising gigs for the charity back in 2006 and 2014, and Smith’s line-up includes Garbage, Wolf Alice, Manic Street Preachers, Chvrches, My Bloody Valentine and more.
Frank Carter spoke about the image he selected for the exhibition, which captures him performing with Sex Pistols last year, and said: “The picture was taken in the legendary Royal Albert Hall. I honestly never thought I would have a chance to play such an iconic venue and to play there with the Sex Pistols was a dream come true.
“Seeing a mosh pit inside such a prestigious venue felt like the definition of Good Punk Energy and before I had time to reconsider I dived in,” he added. “There is so much misery and suffering in the modern world, people want a chance to escape. When the crowd comes with the same energy as the band on stage and everyone moves as one… that’s where the best energy is born and it moves everyone present. It’s a gift to be part of that and is the reason why we do what we do.”
Micky England, Head of Music Merchandise and E-Commerce also spoke about the intention behind the exhibition, and shared: “Good energy is that feeling when a gig locks in and the crowd becomes part of the show. We have created stunning limited edition artworks featuring Frank Carter crowd-surfing, an intimate gig with The 1975, Nia Archives lost in the spotlight and many more special moments chosen by the artists for this project.
As well as prints on display at Royal Albert Hall, there will also be exclusive prints signed by the artists on sale too, with all money raised from there going towards Teenage Cancer Trust. Visit here to browse the collection and for more information.
The TCT 2026 gigs will open on Monday March 23, with Manchester indie veterans Elbow making their debut at the venue, joined by MRCY.
There will then be a traditional night of laughter with ‘Robert Smith’s Comedy Favourites’, inviting Maisie Adam, Bridget Christie, Jack Dee, Andy Hamilton, Dom Joly, Miles Jupp, Athena Kugblenu, Stewart Lee and Dara Ó Briain to the stage.
After that, it’s back to music as frequent The Cure support act Mogwai headline with Craven Faults and Annika Kilkenny. Then, after playing Smith’s Meltdown Festival back in 2018, Manic Street Preachers have once again been handpicked by the frontman to perform – this time along with The Joy Formidable.
Later in the series, My Bloody Valentine headline a night with Chvrches performing a stripped-back performance in support, and the final weekend of shows will see the iconic Garbage along fellow alt-rock legends Placebo (the latter delivering a rare, stripped back performance as part of their 2026 30th anniversary celebrations), before Wolf Alice close things out with an intimate night on their ‘The Clearing‘ tour with support from acclaimed singer-songwriter Nilüfer Yanya.
