Terminal 4 by Beyon Brings John Mayer to Bahrain in 2026

Four years after Beyon Al Dana became Bahrain’s first major, modern music venue, the people behind that 10,000-seat desert amphitheater are opening a companion venue. Dubbed Terminal 4 by Beyon, the 3,500-seat indoor space will be able to operate year-round (outdoor venues typically get quieter during Bahrain’s sweltering summer). The space was designed with visual flourishes — such as three-dimensional, rock-like finishes on the walls as you walk to your seat — that “clap back to [Beyon Al Dana], so they look like they’re cousins,” Marwan Lockman, venue’s architect, tells Billboard.

John Mayer is confirmed as the first international performer to grace the stage at Terminal 4 by Beyon for its inaugural year, rocking the venue on Jan. 20. Terminal 4 by Beyon is located in Exhibition World Bahrain, an event space in Sakhir, Bahrain. The venue is designed to accommodate everything from concerts to comedy to large-scale theatrical productions.

“I designed this space as a companion to Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre, the simple lines, colors and textures mirror that of the outdoor stadium in an indoor setting,” says Lockman, founder of SL Architects. Based on feedback he’d received from touring artists, Lockman designed both spaces with road crews in mind, paying special attention to comfort and accessibility. “We’ve given the same care and attention to crew facilities and backroom space, to ensure every performer has the best possible experience when they come for a show.”

“Terminal 4 is the ideal capacity for Bahrain to grow as an international promoter. We carefully studied the needs of world-renowned artists and together with SL Architects designed a room we will be proud of for years to come,” says Lance Tobin, vp of talent at Beyon Group. “We’re excited to debut with John Mayer next year, and more shows planned to announce soon.”

Earlier this month, Metallica checked a first off their list by playing Bahrain for the first time ever in their lengthy career. The metal icons played to a sold-out crowd at Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre, making a teenage dream come true for Lockman, the architect behind the space.
