Taylor Swift Donates Million to Feeding America

Taylor Swift is bringing some festive holiday cheer to those who need it. The pop star donated $1 million to Feeding America, a non-profit that oversees a network of food banks, food pantries, and local meal programs.

The charity revealed the news in an Instagram post on Tuesday. “We are incredibly grateful for Taylor Swift’s $1 million gift to Feeding America,” CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot wrote. “This holiday season, her continued support is a powerful reminder of what is possible when we unite to end hunger. When we join together alongside people facing hunger, we can make sure families have a full table this holiday season and beyond.”

Swift previously donated $5 million to Feeding America for relief efforts following Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton last October.

Swift has often exhibited notable generosity throughout her career. During the Eras Tour, she donated money to food banks in the cities where her concerts took place. In March 2020, the longtime Nashville resident donated $1 million to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund after Nashville and surrounding areas state were struck by deadly storms. And in February, following the tragic death of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, who was killed in a mass shooting at a Kansas City Chiefs’ victory parade, Swift donated $100,000 to a GoFundMe for the Lopez-Galvan family.

In October, Swift made headlines when she made a $100,000 donation to the GoFundMe of a young fan battling cancer. The quiet donation from Swift, spotted by Swifties, inspired other fans of the pop star to follow suit by contributing to the fundraiser, each in increments of $13, in honor of Swift’s favorite number.

That same month, Swifties wound up donating more than more than $2 million to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, its Sea Otter Program, and other conservation efforts. That was all because of a vintage t-shirt Swift wore in her Life of a Showgirl film.

Swift’s Disney+ documentary series, The End of an Era, from filmmakers Don Argott and Sheena M. Joyce, finished airing this week. Over six, nearly hour-long episodes, The End of an Era takes fans behind-the-scenes of some crucial moments of the Eras Tour and reveals just how the massive tour came together.

In the documentary series, Swift vaguely hinted at new music. The singer unveiled her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, in October. The series noted that the LP became “the biggest album of her career” before adding “to date,” suggesting there are more songs to come.
