Taylor Swift Calls Travis, ‘My In-House House Guy,’ Announces ‘Opalite’ Remix

Kelce inspired Chris Lake’s new EDM version of the track

Taylor Swift is releasing a house remix of “Opalite” — and the world can thank Travis Kelce for that. In an Instagram story, the pop superstar wrote, “Confirmed, Travis is my in-house house guy.”

So what role did her fiancé actually play in making one of the newly announced remixes of the song come to life? Well, Kelce is a big fan of English EDM producer Chris Lake and inspired him to give the glittery pop song an electronic treatment. As Lake revealed in an Instagram post, the producer slid into the NFL player’s DMs and told him, “Heard you and Taylor were listening to my tracks… I’m going to take a crack at remixing this track for her.” Kelce was as supportive as you’d expect a human exclamation mark to be, calling Lake a “legend” and saying, “Can’t wait to see how you put it together man.”

Once Lake cooked up his yet-to-be released remix, Kelce was more hyped than ever in the DMs. “It’s so good dawg, I’m gonna be rippin this shit every car ride!!” he said. He also made sure to let the producer know Swift approved of the “Opalite” remix. “She loves it too!! She said her teams gonna reach out asap!” Kelce wrote.

“Opalite” is the song that keeps on giving. Even before it was released, in the New Heights episode where Swift announced her The Life of a Showgirl, Travis admitted that the track was his favorite one off of the album. In an appearance on Capital FM in October, Swift affirmed the track continued to be his favorite off the album. “He loves that one,” she said. Now, it seems Kelce loves it even more.

A CD-version of the track is available to pre-order on Swift’s website, but the world will have to wait to hear just what compelled Travis to react with six fire emojis. In the meantime, fans can get their Taylor fix by watching the extended versions of the “Opalite” music video, which the singer dropped on Friday.
