Taylor Swift Brings Out Florence Welch and Jack Antonoff, Debuts ‘So Long London’ to Close Out European Leg

Taylor Swift brought out Florence Welch for a duet performance of “Florida!!!,” the track off of her latest album the Tortured Poets Department, to close out the final night of the European leg of her Eras tour.

Welch joined Swift on stage at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday to belt out the chorus — “Say it’s unforgivable/What a crash, what a rush/Fuck me up, Florida!” — to a crowd of more than 90,000 roaring fans. The joint performance marked the first time Swift sang the track on tour since her April album release.

Following the rapturous duet, Jack Antonoff and Swift strummed acoustic guitars to Reputation‘s “Getaway Car.” Swift then traded her guitar for a piano and debuted The Tortured Poets Department‘s “So Long, London.”

“Just how low did you think I’d go/ Before I’d self-implode/Before I’d have to go be free,” Swift sang to a crowd illuminated by white lights.

In a Rolling Stone review of her latest album, Rob Sheffield wrote, “Tortured Poets has the intimate sound of Folklore and Evermore, but with a coating of Midnights synth-pop gloss. The songs go for that detailed Folklore style of storycraft, yet instead of fictional characters, she’s pouring her heart into her own deeply personal exorcisms.”

On Monday, Swift took fans on a trip down memory lane performing “Change” from her second studio album, 2008’s Fearless. On Aug. 17, Swift played “I Did Something Bad” for the first time on the tour, and sang “London Boy” from 2019’s Lover on Aug. 16.

Swift plans to take a much-needed two-month break, before she returns to the U.S. in October for shows in Miami, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Toronto, and Vancouver. While in London, Swift met with two survivors from the stabbing attack in Southport, England, on July 30. One of the survivors, who attended the Swift-themed yoga and dance workshop, wore a bandage around her arm with the “Cardigan” lyric, “You drew stars around my scars.”
