Tanner Adell presents the Rulebreaker Award to Megan Moroney at Billboard Women In Music 2025.
Tanner Adell:
Hey y’all. How are we feeling? Thanks, Laverne. Y’all growing up, our next honoree thought that she was going to become an accountant like her mom. But the only thing that Megan Moroney is counting these days are all of her insane accomplishments, including taking home new artist of the year at the 2024 CMA Awards and tonight’s Rulebreaker Award, presented by Crown Royal. From the very beginning, she’s never been afraid to play by her own rules, like independently releasing her breakout single “Tennessee Orange,” which was recorded, mixed and mastered in 48 hours. Megan even made the single’s iconic cover art on her phone. Since her debut onto the scene just three years ago, Megan’s had nine charting hits on the Hot Country Songs chart, with four breaking into the hot 100. 2024 was a whirlwind of a year for this Georgia girl. She brought her undeniable blend of versatile songwriting and signature rasp to some of the year’s biggest stages, including the Billboard Music Awards and the Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2025 at Times Square, plus, she scored her first Billboard 200 top ten album with her sophomore album, Am I Okay? Yes. Yes. Megan Moroney. I think it’s safe to say you are way more than okay, girl.
