During a recent interview with Billboard, Taemin teased plans for both himself as a soloist and for SHINee for the coming year. “I have a lot planned. After the tour, I want to finish with the [solo] Korean encore concert, which we will have, then the SHINee album will come out and we will have a SHINee show,” he said.
Taemin also noted that he is preparing to release another solo project soon as well. “I will also have my own album coming out… it’ll be quite exciting,” he teased. “It’s not confirmed if it’s a full album yet, but my solo album will come out.”
Taemin’s confirmation of new SHINee music this year comes after SM Entertainment revealed that the band will release a new single sometime in the second quarter of 2025, via an earnings report published earlier this month.
SHINee last studio album was ‘Hard’ in 2023. The record featured a title track of the same name and received a three-star review from NME. “‘Hard’ is perfectly pleasant; not a bad album in the slightest, but also not one that reaches the dizzying heights SHINee are capable of,” wrote NME’s Rhian Daly.
Taemin is currently in the middle of his ‘Ephemeral Gaze’ solo world tour. The idol will head to Europe next month for the tour’s final leg with five shows in Helsinki, Frankfurt, London, Tilburg and Paris, before returning to Seoul for a final encore show.
