Suki Waterhouse was inspired to pursue music after ‘Daisy Jones And The Six’ role

Suki Waterhouse has explained how working on Daisy Jones And The Six inspired her to seriously pursue music.

The British actor played keyboardist Karen Sirko in the 1970s set drama, which followed the rise and fall of a band loosely based on the story of Fleetwood Mac. While she had released several single prior to the series release, a halt in production due to the COVID-19 pandemic encouraged her to pursue making her first album, 2022’s ‘I Can’t Let Go’.

“I was suddenly learning piano in a very serious way for hours and hours a day. And then the pandemic happened, and I was back in London, stuck here for a year with all those new tools in front of me,” she told Variety. “I had that moment of realising, I really want to finally put together my first piece of work.”

She is now on the cusp of releasing her third LP, ‘Loveland’, which is released July 10 and can be pre-ordered here. While the show inspired her music journey, she told the outlet that her relationship with partner Robert Pattinson after having their first child also inspired the work, particularly the lead single, ‘Back in Love’.

“It’s like [I got] belief back in myself,” she said, “and then also being … I don’t want to say back in love with my partner, because it sounds like I was out of it, which I was never. But it’s also a new relationship. Your old relationship has been wiped out, and so it’s building that new one and kind of celebrating the beauty in that, like, we’ve survived this.”

Suki Waterhouse will promote her new album with several festival appearances over the summer, including July’s Lollapalooza and All Things Go in September.
