Sombr Rocks Coachella in Lace and Leather With Help From Billy Corgan

Sombr has been eagerly waiting for months to perform “12 to 12” at Coachella. “This song is gonna go crazy at Sombchella,” he wrote on TikTok in October. He was right.

The pop-rock hit appeared last on the set and whipped the crowd into a frenzy of propulsive jumps and the loudest cheers of the night. Sombr filled out the rest of his set with his latest single “Homewrecker,” which opened the performance on an electric high, and his breakthrough hits “Back to Friends” and “Undressed.”

The screens on either side of the stage didn’t cut on until “Never Even Dated,” a roaring rock record fit for the leather and lace Sombr donned. “If you think you’re too cool to jump, go to another fucking set,” he said during “Come Closer” to set the tone for his performance early.

The Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan also made his Coachella debut alongside Sombr in a special appearance during Sombr’s show. The pair performed “Speed” and “1979” with Corgan on vocals and guitars. If he needed a rock legend’s cosign, this was a perfect one to get.

“You are the reason,” the stage read during “Back to Friends,” a song Sombr introduced as a record that changed his life. “Love is the reason. Coachella is the reason.” When he wrapped with “12 to 12,” he thought about just how much more his life can change. “See you back here when I fucking headline.”

Last month, Sombr wrapped the Late Nights & Young Romance Tour after nearly 70 shows. During the run, the artist surprised his audience with appearances from Niall Horan, Joe Jonas, Laufey, Cigarettes After Sex, Sam Smith, and more artists.

Earlier this year, Sombr hit the Grammy Awards stage with a performance of “12 to 12” from his debut album, I Barely Know Her. He was up for Best New Artist that night alongside fellow Coachella 2026 performers Katseye and Addison Rae, among others including the Marías, Lola Young, and Olivia Dean.

“Honestly, it’s all so new to me, I don’t really know how to navigate it and I’m still figuring it out — but one thing I do know is that I’m so honored,” Sombr told Billboard last year about his breakthrough.”[I’m] taking it day by day, and all I want to do is take this platform that I’ve been given and make more.”
