Snoop Dogg is going for the gold again. The rapper and NBCUniversal announced on Sunday (Sept. 28) that Snoop will once again be a roving correspondent for its upcoming coverage of the Milan-Cortina Games kicking off in February after charming audiences with his dispatches from the 2024 Paris Games.
In a short Instagram video announcing the news, Snoop is seen with his back to the camera standing on what looks like a snowy mountaintop while the Olympic fanfare blasts out. As the lens pushes in Snoop’s red, white and blue team USA gear comes into focus and he spins around and says, “Guess who’s back?” The clip ends with Snoop doing a snow shuffle to the Olympic theme.
According to the announcement from NBC, Snoop will “explore northern Italy, from the vibrant streets of Milan to the breathtaking Dolomites, providing his unique perspective to viewers during NBCUniversal’s Winter Olympic primetime coverage.”
The opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Games will take place on Feb. 6 on NBC and Peacock. Throughout the games, Snoop will appear alongside NBC Olympics host Mike Tirico and regale primetime audiences with his unique perspective on the goings on in Northern Italy during the winter games.
“I am excited to be back with my main man Mike Tirico for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina,” said Snoop in a statement. “The D O double G will be on the scene, and I am looking forward to celebrating with the athletes and their families. The Olympics is the biggest stage in the world and, as everyone knows, I’m all about sports, bringing people together, and unifying while bringing the fun. I’ll be bringing my puffy jackets, snow pants, goggles, skates (and will definitely be iced out).”
“He’ll explore the region’s iconic landmarks and culture, attend Olympic competitions, and cheer alongside the athletes, their friends, and families,” NBC said, promising that the popular nightly viral video package “Snoop’s Greatest Hits” will be back for the run of the competition.
Snoop made his Olympics debut in Paris last summer with a series of on-air bits that turned him into an instant summer games go-to, from carrying the Olympic torch before the Opening Ceremony to watching equestrian with old pal Martha Stewart and calling the women’s 200M medalists to congratulate them on their track and field win.
“Our Ambassador of Happiness returns! We can’t wait to see how the kid from Long Beach handles the snow and ice of Italy at his first-ever Winter Olympics,” added NBC Olympics executive producer Molly Solomon in the statement. “In Paris, Snoop amplified the joy of the Summer Olympics: training with the athletes, watching nervously alongside their families, and cheering on their performances. He connected with viewers in a way we’ve never seen before and now he’s primed to return as Team USA’s most effusive supporter. Mike Tirico has the announcer blazer and microphone standing by.”
The Voice coach Snoop’s Paris sojourn wasn’t just fun, he also brought home some of his own gold, winning two sports Emmys as part of NBCUniversal’s Paris Olympics coverage. The 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics will run from Feb. 6-22, followed by the Paralympics from March 6-15.
