‘SNL’: Watch Benson Boone Perform ‘Mystical Magical,’ ‘Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else’

Singer-songwriter debuts on Saturday Night Live with a pair of tracks from his upcoming album

Singer-songwriter Benson Boone debuted on Saturday Night Live with a pair of tracks from his upcoming album, American Heart

Boone first performed “Sorry I’m Here for Someone Else,” which reached the Top 40 of the Hot 100 upon its release.

Boone returned to the stage with “Mystical Magical,” which he debuted at Coachella in April–a set which also saw him play “Bohemian Rhapsody” and his breakout hit “Beautiful Things” alongside Queen’s Brian May.

Boone told Rolling Stone in a recent interview that he’s eager to show that there’s more where “Beautiful Things” came from.

“I think I’m getting to the point where I just want people to know that there’s more than just that song,” he explained. “I think I’m a little past that point. But of course I still love the song. I’m still proud of it. And I’ll be performing it for a while, so I hope that feeling sticks around.”

The Washington native’s performances in New York came the day after his set at the Lovin’ Life Music Fest in North Carolina. On Sunday, Boone stops at the Riverbeat Music Festival in Memphis, ahead of several other festivals through the summer in North America and Europe.
