Singer D4vd ‘Fully Cooperating’ After Dead Body Found in Car Reportedly Registered to Him

D4vd said he is “fully cooperating” with authorities after a decomposing body was found in the trunk of an impounded Tesla registered to the singer, according to multiple reports.

Law enforcement sources told The Los Angeles Times that the impounded automobile was registered to David Anthony Burke — the singer’s real name — in Texas. The body has not yet been identified. Burke, who is currently on tour, performed in Madison, Wisconsin, on Sunday, Sept. 7, and is still set to perform in Minneapolis tonight, Sept. 9. A representative for the Fillmore in Minneapolis tells Rolling Stone the show “is happening.”

A spokesperson for Burke told NBC that the musician “has been informed about what’s happened, and although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities.”

A lawyer for Burke did not immediately return Rolling Stone’s request for comment.

According to the Los Angeles police, the body was discovered Monday afternoon, Sept. 8, after officers responded a call about a “foul odor coming form a vehicle at a tow yard” in Hollywood. “Detectives responded and located possible human remains,” the LAPD said. “It is currently a death investigation.”

Police sources said the car had been sitting in the tow lot for at least five days. It was towed from the upscale Bird Streets neighborhood in the Hollywood Hills.
