Simple Minds announce new live album and huge summer 2025 UK tour

Simple Minds have announced a new live album, ahead of their huge UK and Ireland tour this summer. Find all the details below.

The Scottish band are due to release ‘Live In The City Of Diamonds’ on April 24 (pre-order/pre-save here). It captures a career-spanning sold-out concert at the Ziggo Dome arena in Amsterdam on April 6, 2024.

Fans will be able to own the collection in the following physical formats:

2 x CD Media Book: features 24 tracks and a 24-page book including exclusive photos and tour notes written by Jim Kerr.

Double black vinyl: 18-tracks, housed in gatefold sleeve with hi-spec finish.

Specialist Retail Exclusive Vinyl: Double clear / glitter vinyl housed in gatefold sleeve with hi-spec finish. 

The forthcoming album boasts live renditions of Simple Minds’ 1985 hit single ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’, as well as early tracks like ‘Love Song’, ‘Sons And Fascination’ and ‘Sweat In Bullet’, as well as cuts from the group’s era-defining  1982 album ‘New Gold Dream’.

Additionally, there is material from the band’s 1985 album ‘Once Upon A Time’, their 1989 Number One single ‘Belfast Child’ and songs from their 1991 LP ‘Real Life’ – including fan-favourite ‘See The Lights’.

Simple Minds are set to hit the road this summer for a run of UK and Ireland headline shows.

The tour kicks off with a massive hometown performance at Glasgow’s Bellahouston Park on June 27, where the band will perform their 1985 album ‘Once Upon A Time’ in full to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

From there, Simple Minds are scheduled to play concerts in Lincoln, Southampton, Dublin, Bedford, Halifax and Derby. Tickets are on sale now – you can buy yours here, and see the full itinerary below.

They’ll also take to the stage at Lytham Festival 2025 where they appear on the bill alongside the likes of Justin Timberlake, Alanis Morissette and Texas.
