Shakira’s Free Concert Draws 2 Million to Rio De Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach

Singer’s hits-filled show featured nearly 30 songs and guests Anitta, Maria Bethania, and Caetano Veloso

Shakira became the latest artist to draw an audience of millions to Brazil’s Copacabana Beach as the singer performed a hits-filled free concert on Saturday.

An estimated 2 million people attended the show in Rio De Janeiro, where Shakira delivered a nearly 30-song set that included guest appearances by Anitta, Maria Bethania, and Caetano Veloso.

“I arrived here when I was 18 years old, dreaming about singing for you,” the Colombian-born Shakira told the crowd shortly after taking the stage. “And now look at this. Life is magical.”

Shakira’s set included hits like “Hips Don’t Lie,” “She Wolf,” “BZRP Music Sessions #53,” “La Tortura,” “Waka Waka,” “Whenever, Wherever,” and “Choka Choka” featuring surprise guest Anitta:

Shakira is the third consecutive female artist to perform a free show at Copacabana Beach, following Madonna in 2024 and Lady Gaga in 2025; the latter show drew a record-breaking 2.5 million people to the Rio De Janeiro beach.

Despite being a free concert, Shakira’s show was expected to generate an estimated $150 million in tourism revenue to the city, according to local government.
