Shakira Performs ‘Antología’ on ‘The Tonight Show’

Serving as the musical guest, the Colombian superstar delivered a stripped-back rendition of the track from her breakthrough album Pies Descalzos, released when she was just 18.

The emotionally charged performance was met with a wave of nostalgia and audible cheers from the audience, who joined in from the first verse.

The performance followed Shakira’s Tuesday night celebration of another landmark moment in her career, the 20th anniversary of “Hips Don’t Lie.” She performed the chart-topping global hit on the Tonight Show and sat down with host Jimmy Fallon on May 8 for an in-depth interview about the track’s legacy, her new album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, and the launch of her 2025 world tour.

“Hips Don’t Lie,” featuring Wyclef Jean, originally appeared on Oral Fixation, Vol. 2 and became Shakira’s first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit, reaching the summit on June 17, 2006. It has since become one of the defining Latin crossover singles of the 2000s, with Billboard recently ranking Shakira as the No. 1 artist on its list of the 50 Best Female Latin Pop Artists of All Time.

After making history in Latin America by breaking global box office records in March, Shakira began a North American tour this week that also includes stops in Chicago; Boston; Washington, D.C.; Miami; San Diego; Los Angeles and other cities, before concluding in San Francisco on June 30.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC and streams the following day on Peacock.
