SEVENTEEN confirm release date for new album ‘Happy Burstday’

SEVENTEEN have confirmed the release date for their new album ‘Happy Burstday’ – read on for all the info.

The K-pop boyband are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut in 2025 and, as revealed last month, they are marking the occasion with the release of their fifth full-length album and the follow-up to 2022’s ‘Face The Sun’.

Today (April 21), the group announced that ‘Happy Burstday’ would be released on May 25, with band members S.COUPS, JEONGHAN, JOSHUA, JUN, HOSHI, WONWOO, WOOZI, THE 8, MINGYU, DK, SEUNGKWAN, VERNON and DINO all appearing in a promotional video.

It has also been revealed that SEVENTEEN will be heading out on tour to promote the record, although no further details have yet been shared. A “new unit single album” is also in the works and more SEVENTEEN content has been promised for the coming months.

An accompanying press release adds: “HAPPY BURSTDAY blends the words ‘birthday’ and ‘burst’ to express the explosive energy of SEVENTEEN’s rebirth, capturing their desire to reinvent themselves as a ‘new SEVENTEEN’ and embrace a fearless new era beyond a decade.”

Their label Pledis Entertainment confirmed that all 13 members of the band were involved in the album’s creation and recording. This includes Jeonghan and Wonwoo, who worked on the record prior to their military enlistment.

Jeonghan was the first SEVENTEEN member to enlist for two years of mandatory service back in September 2024. Wonwoo enlisted on April 3, as confirmed at the start of the year.

The announcement of new music from SEVENTEEN comes only a few weeks after members Hoshi and Woozi debuted as a new sub-unit with their single album ‘Beam’ in March. It featured lead single ’96ers’, as well as B-sides ‘Stupid Idiot’ and ‘Pinocchio’, featuring So!YoON!

The duo are the second SEVENTEEN sub-unit to release music in 2025, with BSS – comprising Hoshi, DK and Seungkwan – releasing the ‘Teleparty’ single album last month. The record marked their first release in two years, headlined by title track ‘CBZ (Prime Time)’.

‘Teleparty’ received a glowing five-star review from NME’s Carmen Chin: “Over the course of three tracks, Seungkwan, DK and Hoshi, having rekindled the lost art of quirky K-pop, expand on their grounded whimsicality.”
