For his set on the second weekend of Coachella (April 19), the ‘Seventeen Going Under’ singer surprised those in attendance by bringing out Granduciel of The War On Drugs fame to perform a number of songs. Granduciel also notably produced Fender’s latest album, ‘People Watching’.

Of the four songs that Granduciel joined Fender for, the first was ‘People Watching’, marking the first time the two have performed it together. Check out footage of the performance below.

Other songs that Granduciel performed with Sam Fender include ‘Tyrants’, ‘Seventeen Going Under’ and ‘Hypersonic Missiles’.

Sam Fender’s Coachella 2025 setlist on April 19 was:

‘The Borders’
‘Arm’s Length’
‘Spit of You’
‘Howdon Aldi Death Queue’
‘People Watching’ (with Adam Granduciel)
‘Tyrants’ (with Adam Granduciel)
‘Seventeen Going Under’ (with Adam Granduciel)
‘Hypersonic Missiles’ (with Adam Granduciel)

‘People Watching’ was given a glowing four-star review from NME, which described it as a “reflective and perceptive indie rock from North Shields’ shining star”. “Feeling existential, uprooted and disconnected from his old working-class life thanks to his rapid rise to fame, the British guitar hero channels it all into his gorgeous third album,” it read.

Fender has added further dates to his forthcoming UK stadium tour in the summer – including Wythenshawe Park in Manchester, Edinburgh Summer Sessions, and Boucher Road Playing Fields in Belfast. Visit here to buy tickets and find a list of UK tour dates here.

On top of that, it was recently announced that Fender will be one of the headlining acts at this year’s Formula 1 British Grand Prix.

The ‘Hypersonic Missiles’ singer won the award for Best Alternative/Rock Act at this year’s BRIT Awards, where he also performed the title track from his latest album, ‘People Watching’.
