Sam Fender is heading out on a Proper Massive stadium tour in June 2027, but he’s “not happy” with the prices of his own shows.
The 32-year-old wrote on Instagram Saturday (Oct. 24) that he was disappointed with the pricing for the upcoming run and that “they’re getting changed.” Fender is due to play a number of stadium shows in Newcastle, Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh and two nights at London’s Wembley Stadium in June.
Fender first responded to the tour prices in an Instagram comment writing, “I’m not happy with these prices, they’re getting changed. It got inflated well more than I’d had in mind, it should only be inflated in relation to the cost of putting the show on.”
The “Rein Me In” star responded to criticism of a premium — and more expensive — ticket for the front standing area. “The standing will not be split as well, I had no idea about it,” he explained. “I have no idea how this was normalised in gigs. It’s bollocks and it won’t be happening on this tour.”
Fender revealed the revised prices on his Instagram Story Sunday and changed the layout of the shows. “I’ve managed to get front standing tickets removed from the U.K. stadium tour. Whoever buys a standing ticket gets as much chance as anyone to be at the front. No more 120 quid standing tickets either.”
He added, “Costs are astronomical compared to two years ago, I can’t control the venue and ticketing fees, that’s a sad reality of today’s industry.”
General admission tickets will now begin at £85 ($113), with seated tickets priced at £55 ($73), £75 ($100) and £95 ($126) depending on the seats’ locations. These prices exclude venue and ticket company fees, and the £1 per ticket contribution to the LIVE Trust which supports grassroots venues across the U.K.
A presale for tickets begins at 9:30 GMT on Wednesday (Oct. 28), followed by a general sale on Friday (Oct. 31).
Earlier this year, Fender broke the all-time record for the longest-running No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart with 23 non-consecutive weeks at the summit for Olivia Dean collaboration “Rein Me In.” The song peaked at No. 45 on the Billboard Hot 100.
