Sabrina Carpenter Releases ‘Man’s Best Friend’ Deluxe Track as Digital Download

“Such a Funny Way” was featured as bonus song on physical editions of new album

Sabrina Carpenter has a little something extra from Man’s Best Friend: She just released the bonus track “Such a Funny Way” as a digital download.

The song was previously only available as a vinyl exclusive. Carpenter has yet to release “Such a Funny Way” on streaming services (though some quick fans already put up rips of it on YouTube).

Leaning into the disco-country of much of Man’s Best Friend, Carpenter sings about a neglectful lover. In her classic way, Carpenter wittily twists his bad behavior and even outright rejection of her as “such a funny way of saying ‘I love you.’”

Carpenter released her new album last Friday. During a Spotify release party, Carpenter said that her creative process behind the new LP was “all about sort of embracing spontaneity, all about embracing impulses that I was having and experiences that I was having that were really urgent to write about.” She continued, “And knowing that if I didn’t make this album and have it represent the chapter of my life that it represents, that it would have never been this album. It would have turned into something else, and I think that would have done it as a service to the album.”

Next month, Carpenter will perform at Austin City Limits before kicking off a run of shows in select cities. In the spring, she’ll be performing at Lollapaloozas in Chile, Brazil and Argentina.
