“You’re kind of spicing up my life a little bit,” the singer told Baby Spice while making the night’s honorary “Juno” arrest
Sabrina Carpenter went from sweet to spicy during her Short n’ Sweet tour stop at the O2 in London on Saturday night. While making the night’s honorary arrest during “Juno,” the singer chose Spice Girls‘ Emma Bunton as the recipient of her fuzzy pink handcuffs. “You’re kind of spicing up my life a little bit,” she told Baby Spice.
“Please, please, please Arrest me for being a fan!!! @sabrinacarpenter you were amazing,” Bunton wrote on Instagram, where she reshared a clip from the arrest. In a photo dump from her back-to-back performances at the O2, Caprenter shared a photo of Bunton holding her handcuffs. On Sunday night, she arrested actress Salma Hayek.
In her Instagram post, Carpenter also reflected on the feat of returning to the venue eight years after she first took the stage there as an opening act on the Vamps’ Middle of the Night tour.
“London, the last two nights at the @theo2london felt like such a little british dream,” she captioned the carousel of photos. “I opened there when i was 18 and it’s been my goal ever since to come back and play my own shows. Then you not only sold them out but you also made my album number 1 in the UK again while i was there 🇬🇧💋 what did i do to deserve ya. thank you to everyone who came and sang so loud and special thank you to my iconic juno girls salma + baby spice 💞.”
Carpenter recently took the stage at the Brit Awards for the first time for a medley performance of “Espresso” and “Bed Chem.” She was presented with the Global Success Award.
“The first time I ever came to the UK was ten years ago–I was with my mom and nobody knew who I was. Maybe ten people,” she said during her speech. “But, all I kept thinking about was one day how exciting it would feel if anyone in the UK knew my music. Now, this week I get to headline the 02 [Arena] because of you guys.”
