Rosé Says Taylor Swift Gave Her Advice When She ‘Was Drowning a Little’ Launching Solo Career

Who better than Taylor Swift to give some pop star advice? In a new interview with I-D, Blackpink’s Rosé revealed that the Eras Tour star shared some advice with her as she was “drowning a little” while launching her solo career.

“I told her I’m such a huge fan, and I just had some questions,” Rosé told the outlet about meeting Swift several months ago. “As soon as she met me, she’s like, ‘Spill, let me help you out.’”

“She gave me her experiences and was so ready to help me,” Rosé added. “She gave me her number, and she’s like, ‘Let me know if you have any questions.’ Who does that? Like, you’re Taylor Swift! I’m really grateful for her because I was at a moment where I was drowning a little.”

Rosé described Swift as “literally the coolest” and “such a girl’s girl,” sharing how the singer focused her advice on how she should take care of some of the logistics behind being a pop star.

“She was trying to protect me. Me becoming solo, being independent, it’s not an easy thing,” Rosé said. “There are a lot of things I should be careful with, and she gave me a rundown on all the things I have to look out for. That was the coolest part – she’s killed it in the game, and she was kind enough to walk me through.”

The new interview comes just a few weeks before the New Zealand-born singer is set to release her debut solo album, Rosie, on Dec. 6. She led the project with “APT,” her addicting collaboration with Bruno Mars, and recently told Paper she wrote a “disgustingly vulnerable” song about online hate that’s featured on the project.

To I-D, Rosé also revealed that she’s been having a “lot of anxiety attacks” as she launches her solo album since she’s been thinking about the project so much. Making the album, on the other hand, was “very therapeutic.”

“It was the only place I felt sane. That’s why I did it for a year. I felt like I was being held by mum, or something,” she said of making the project. “There [were] bad days when I felt like I needed that [security] back because I know what it feels like when I’m being, like, hugged and cradled.”
