Role Model is canceling a few shows to focus on filming Lena Dunham’s Good Sex. The singer announced that he’d drop out of most of Gracie Abrams‘ shows, where he was scheduled as an opener, and an upcoming festival appearance.
“I’m so excited to be joining Lena and the Good Sex cast, but as the filming schedule was finalized over the past month, there were some unavoidable conflicts that unfortunately could not be worked around no matter how hard we tried,” Role Model wrote on Instagram. “That said, I am no longer able to attend Calgary Stampede or join some of the shows on The Secret of Us Deluxe tour.”
Role Model shared that he’ll still be joining Abrams for shows at Mexico City’s Pepsi Ceter and New York City’s Madison Square Garden. “I am so sorry to anyone disappointed by this but the GOOD news is, you’ll get to experience the incredible Djo, [Griff], and of course [Abrams] live and for that I’m jealous,” he wrote. “I promise to make the shows we DO have together memorable and thank you always for your understanding. See you soon.”
Role Model, credited by his real name Tucker Pillsbury, will join Natalie Portman and Mark Ruffalo in Good Sex, which is filming later this year. Lena Dunham is directing the Netflix film, whose script she co-wrote and produced for her GTG production company, alongside Michael Cohen.

Good Sex follows Portman as a couples therapist named Ally, who is turning 40 and getting back into the dating scene in New York. Ally then meets two men — one in his twenties and one in his fifties — who teach her all about, as the film title suggests, good sex.
In late April, Role Model spoke to Rolling Stone about his love for “just being onstage” while on tour. (Last weekend, he performed at Governors Ball and kissed Conan Gray onstage.) “I feel like we have so many fun moments now, and it’s not the same show every night,” he said. “We’ve kind of shaped the show in a way where there’s something different every night … I love that I get to see new cities, but I fucking hate traveling and living out of a bag, and not not having my own space. I like my little routine and my little life and all my stuff.”
