The Rock Hall today (April 28) took to social media following the latest episode of American Idol, where the inductees were first revealed, to share the news to the wider audience. Among the inductees being honoured later this year at the ceremony are The White Stripes, Cyndi Lauper, OutKast and Soundgarden.

The 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on November 8, and will be streamed live on Disney+.

The 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees are:

Among the artists who were part of the longlist but ultimately did not make the cut for induction in 2025 are Oasis, Mariah Carey, Phish, Billy Idol, The Black Crowes and Joy Division/New Order. It marks the second time that Oasis and Joy Division/New Order have been snubbed from induction.

Phish also will not be nominated this year despite winning the annual fan vote.

Despite their snubbed for the second time, it doesn’t appear as though Oasis will really mind, as frontman Liam Gallagher previously said after being nominated for the first time in 2024: “Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS,” he wrote on X, going on to tell a fan who was planning on voting to not “waste your time”, adding that “as much as it’s appreciated it’s all a load of bollox”.

Last year saw Cher, Ozzy Osbourne, Kool & The Gang, Peter Frampton, Foreigner and Dave Matthews Band, Mary J Blige and A Tribe Called Quest inducted.

In November, Mariah Carey – who was also on the longlist in 2024 – reflected on her snub when it came to the inductees chosen. Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, she said: “My thoughts are, I didn’t get in. Everybody was calling me, going, ‘I think you’re getting in!’ and so I was excited about it. But then it didn’t happen. My lawyer got into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame before me.”

Her lawyer, Allen Grubman – a co-founder of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame – was inducted in 2022. Grubman has long been a lawyer to the stars, representing several big names in the entertainment industry including Bruce Springsteen, U2, Sting, Madonna, Elton John and Lady Gaga among others.
