Reneé Rapp has announced her second album ‘Bite Me’ and has shared the lead single ‘Leave Me Alone’ – listen below.
The follow-up to 2023’s ‘Snow Angel’ will be released on August 1 via Interscope Records in the US and Polydor in the UK – you can pre-order/pre-save it here.
Rapp has been teasing ‘Bite Me’ over the last few weeks, unveiling a new website which urged fans to “sign NDAs” that then revealed hints about the album. Posts from the likes of Paris Hilton, Charlize Theron and Monica Lewinsky also teased at the upcoming record.
Now, fans have their first taste of the new era with ‘Leave Me Alone’, a provocative, and rebellious pop banger that opens with Rapp singing: “I’m a real bad girl but a real good kisser/Leave me alone, bitch, I wanna have fun”.
Watch the video, starring a troupe of Rapp’s doppelgangers as they head on a night out that transitions to a raunchy and ultimately bloody pillow fight, here:
Rapp first gained prominence on Broadway, portraying Regina George in Mean Girls, the character originally played by Rachel McAdams in the original film. Rapp later reprised in the 2024 musical film adaptation.
Her earliest foray into the music industry came with the 2022 EP ‘Everything To Everyone’, which featured the singles ‘In The Kitchen’ and ‘Don’t Tell My Mom’. ‘Snow Angel’ then reached the Billboard Top 50 and was a Number Seven album in the UK charts.
Elsewhere, Rapp, Megan Thee Stallion and Cara Delevingne recreated an iconic photo of themselves from a night out in 2024 at this year’s Coachella Festival, with Delevingne captioning the photo: “The lesbian bodyguards”.
Last year, Megan and Rapp also performed their collaborative song from the Mean Girls reboot on Saturday Night Live, with the rapper appearing halfway through the song as a surprise guest.
