Record Store Day has announced the date for its 2026 edition – you can find all the details below.
The 19th instalment of RSD – which celebrates independent record shops and vinyl culture in the UK – is due to take place on Saturday April 18.
More than 280 UK record shops will take part this year, alongside thousands of indie retailers worldwide. These are set to stock an array of exclusive physical releases and host some in-store events.
According to organisers, RSD will announce its official UK ambassador and reveal the slate of hundreds of vinyl over the coming months.
This year’s partners include BBC Radio 6 Music, Bowers & Wilkins, Jack Daniel’s x Metropolis: REVIVE LIVE, and War Child.
Rich Clarke, Head Of Music at War Child, said: “We’re delighted to be a long-term partner of Record Store Day, celebrating independent record shops and the communities who support them.
“We’re honoured to be the official charity partner and to use that platform to give vital support to children affected by conflict around the world.”
The event launched in 2007, and has since grown into one of the most anticipated dates in the music calendar, highlighting the continued importance of independent record retail.
The official UK ambassador for RSD 2025 was Sam Fender, who also released a six-track 12-inch vinyl record to mark the occasion, ‘Me And The Dog’. Post Malone took on an ambassador role for last year’s edition, too.
The likes of Taylor Swift, Kate Bush, The 1975, Noel Gallagher and Elton John have all previously taken on the title.
RSD ’25 saw exclusive releases from Oasis, Charli XCX, Fred Again.., The Cure, Gorillaz, Taylor Swift and many more. Fans queued from the early hours to get hold of special edition vinyl from their local indie record shops. Check out the full list here.
Record Store Day then returned with its Black Friday sister event towards the end of last year.
