Rage Against The Machine, Green Day, Papa Roach and more confirmed for ‘Devil May Cry’ anime soundtrack

Netflix has revealed the acts involved in the soundtrack for its upcoming anime adaptation of Devil May Cry.

Later today (April 3), the first season of the Devil May Cry anime series will premiere on Netflix around the globe. Previously unveiled as the show’s main theme was Limp Bizkit’s ‘Rollin’ (Air Raid Vehicle)’.

Then last month, Evanescence revealed that they would be contributing to the anime’s soundtrack in the form of an entirely new song, ‘Afterlife’. Now, Netflix has revealed a portion of its soundtrack’s contributing artists ahead of the series’ debut.

Besides Evanescence and Limp Bizkit, the soundtrack will also include Rage Against The Machine‘s ‘Guerrila Radio’, Papa Roach‘s ‘Last Resort’ – albeit a remixed version, an undisclosed Green Day track and more. See the list below.

The fantasy action series, created by Adi Shankar, is based on the Japanese video game franchise of the same.

The series is heavily inspired by Dante’s epic poem The Divine Comedy while the original game was based on a scrapped idea for Resident Evil 4 and follows demon hunter Dante as he battles various beasties who are trying to invade earth.

Speaking about the nu-metal heavy soundtrack, series creator Adi Shankar said in late January: “My Devil May Cry universe is set in a late ’90s/early 2000s PS2 era of the world.  It’s not set in modern times. It’s set in my memory of the world, pre- and post-9/11.  My music choices reflect this.” He went on to say the soundtrack will feature hits from that era as well as reimagined cuts from the gaming franchise. ”You are not prepared for this soundtrack. Anime is not prepared for this soundtrack.“
