Quavo has dropped a new single, “Georgia Ways,” featuring Luke Bryan and Teddy Swims. The genre-bending anthem celebrates the musicians’ home of Georgia, honoring how the state shaped their careers.
The rousing track was released alongside a music video directed by Wyatt Spain, which was shot in the Georgia backcountry. In the clip, Quavo and Bryan go fishing and drive around on ATVs, with Quavo in a Georgia-emblazoned shirt.
Quavo has been teasing the single on Instagram, including sharing a picture of himself fishing with Bryan. The song was also played during the University of Georgia vs. Georgia Tech football game, which Quavo attended. The song will be featured across ESPN programming leading into SEC Championship and throughout the college football playoff.
“Georgia Ways” is one of many collaborations from Quavo this year. The musician recently joined the Kid Laroi on “Slow It Down” and teamed up with Ty Dolla $ign for “If I Fall,” a futuristic, rock-rap anthem for the Transformers One soundtrack. The rapper, whose’s last album, Rocket Power, arrived last year, has notably been working with multiple artists of various genres in recent months, including Lana Del Rey on “Tough.”
Bryan’s latest LP, Mind of a Country Boy, was released in September. Bryan said that he took the time to “really compile songs” for the 14-track album to ensure the tracks would “stand the test of time.” “I think this album, as I’ve tried to do with all my albums, just has a little bit of everything,” he said. “I do some things differently vocally on this one that I’ve not done before. It’s about each song having its place and having its meaning. It’s trying not to be overly redundant with songs.”
