The premiere and MUBI release date for Cameron Winter‘s Live At Carnegie Hall film have been confirmed. Check out all the details below.
Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson – the acclaimed Oscar-winning director, known for One Battle After Another, There Will Be Blood and Phantom Thread – the film captures the the Geese frontman live in New York, as he performed a solo show at Carnegie Hall’s Isaac Stern Auditorium on December 11, 2025.
Shot on 35mm and 16mm, the gig followed on from Geese’s huge tour of North America and saw the frontman perform piano-led versions of songs from his 2024 solo album ‘Heavy Metal‘.
Fans spotted Anderson filming the show on the night, with footage from the audience showing him operating a camera during ‘Nina + Field Of Cops’. Benny Safdie, who is a producer on the film, was also seen assisting Anderson, while an additional camera reportedly ran from the balcony throughout the concert.
Now, it has been revealed that the film will have its world premiere at the 64th New York Film Festival, which runs between September 25 and October 12, and its UK premiere at the 70th BFI London Film Festival, which takes place between October 7 and 18.
MUBI has also announced the global acquisition of Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall – excluding North America – and will be streaming the concert film in 2027. Janus Films and Criterion will release the film in North America.
“Cameron Winter, in December 2025, after a months-long sold-out tour with his band Geese, returned to New York to play a single show at Carnegie Hall,” reads a new synopsis of the concert film. “This is the movie.”
As well as the premieres and MUBI streaming plans, the concert film will also be screened in cinemas across North America later this year. Tickets set to go on sale on September 17 via the film’s website, check here for tickets and a list of showings.
The same Carnegie Hall performance is also being released as Winter’s first live album, ‘Live At Carnegie Hall’. It is set for release on October 9 via Partisan Records and Play It Again Sam. Ariel Rechtshaid recorded, produced and mixed the album, and has also produced the music for the film. Pre-order it here.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s work on the film comes following the renowned filmmaker previously directing music videos for Radiohead, The Smile and Haim, while his most recent film, One Battle After Another, was the major winner at this year’s Oscars, taking home Best Picture and Best Director.
On the 2025 solo tour, NME awarded Winter’s show at London’s Roundhouse a glowing five stars, writing: “Cameron Winter has the power, talent and magnetism of a future great – a star to go the distance with just that voice, a piano and a whole world quite literally at his fingertips.”
Winter is currently back on the road with Geese, whose latest album ‘Getting Killed’ also received five stars from NME before topping our list of the best albums of 2025.
Recent shows of theirs have included two sold out gigs in Glasgow, where the band honoured Dolly Parton and played ‘Disco’ live for the first time. Since then, they have also drawn a raucous crowd at Reading & Leeds 2026, and headlined End of the Road festival for the first time.
