Post Malone Reflects on Filming Bud Light Super Bowl Ad With ‘Epic Dudes’ Shane Gillis & Peyton Manning

Post Malone had the dream team backing him up on set for his fourth Super Bowl commercial with Bud Light, with the singer-rapper this year starring alongside Peyton Manning and comedian Shane Gillis for the beer’s game-day spot.

In the 60-second spot that premiered Friday (Jan. 31), Posty and Gillis come to the rescue when a neighbor’s lawn party is a bust, first by luring in attendees by shooting cans of Bud Light over people’s fences and then keeping the party going with more beers and some barbecue. At one point, the former Indianapolis Colts quarterback comes over and declares, “This cul-de-sac is popping!”

And in a Q&A video shared exclusively with Billboard, the “Better Now” musician opened up about spending time on set with his two famous costars. Recalling how they were “goofing around and laughing, telling jokes” throughout the shoot, Post said, “These are really, really, really epic dudes and I’m honored to be able to grace the screen with them.”

“It’s amazing being in a Super Bowl ad with Bud Light for the fourth time, which is crazy,” he added before quipping, “[That’s] way more than Shane will ever do. … I’m very passionate about the product and the whole organization.”

The musician also shared his own backyard party essentials. “A pair of these bad boys,” he said, showing off his socks-and-sandals combo. “And of course, a cold Bud Light.”

Post’s new commercial premieres just a couple days after it was announced that he’ll headline YouTube’s Super Bowl Tailgate concert in New Orleans just a few hours before the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles at Caesars Superdome Feb. 9. Two days prior, the “Psycho” artist will play Bud Light’s Super Bowl LIX takeover concert at the Fillmore.
