PinkPantheress cancels remaining 2024 shows for health reasons: “I have reached a wall which I am struggling to penetrate”

PinkPantheress has cancelled her remaining tour dates for 2024 due to health reasons.

In an Instagram story posted yesterday (August 1), PinkPantheress made the announcement, stating that the cancellation was made “in order to focus on my physical health and overall wellbeing”.

“It appears I have reached a wall which I am struggling to penetrate through,” she added. The cancelled dates include sets at forthcoming festivals Field Day and Summer Sonic, along with opening slots on Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Guts’ tour in the US and Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres’ tour in Australia and New Zealand.

“I would like to thank all of you, as well as my touring team and Olivia for giving me the platform to perform some super fun shows,” she continued. “I’m sad to disappoint anyone and can only hope we will be in each other’s company once I return to health.”

Over the last week, PinkPantheress performed on Rodrigo’s tour in the US, with her last date being July 30 in Denver, Colorado. Her July 27 appearance was also cancelled due to health issues. It is unclear if there will be a replacement act for Rodrigo’s San Francisco dates today (August 2) and tomorrow (August 3).

Last month, PinkPantheress revealed that new music will be released “soon”. This was followed by an interview in which she admitted that she doesn’t listen to albums.

“I just listen to songs. That’s why when it came to my own album, I was like, do people care about tracklisting? I couldn’t believe it,” she said on Kids Take Over. “When I saw people review my album, some people were like, ‘It’s a great album, but the tracklisting doesn’t make sense.’ I’m like, just listen to the songs.”

She clarified her interview answer in a tweet, maintaining that “there is no right or wrong way to consume or make music.”

“It’s people trying to say there is that stops people from enjoying + creating art in whichever form they want,” she continues. “Who cares if i listen to albums in full lol. it’s music, it’s meant to be unique to everyone.”
