PARTYNEXTDOOR Earns First No. 1 on Rhythmic Airplay Chart, Drake Extends Record

PARTYNEXTDOOR celebrates his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart as “Somebody Loves Me,” a collaboration with Drake from the pair’s $ome $exy $ongs 4 U album, jumps from No. 3 to lead the list dated July 5. With the new leader, Drake achieves his record-extending 41st chart-topper on the radio ranking.

“Somebody Loves Me,” released and promoted through OVO Sound/Santa Anna/Republic, ascends to the throne as the most-played song on panel-contributing rhythmic radio stations in the United States in the week ending June 26, according to Luminate. The single added 8% more plays for its coronation week compared with the previous frame.

With “Somebody Loves Me,” PARTYNEXTDOOR captures his first Rhythmic Airplay No. 1 on his seventh trip to the chart. He previously managed a No. 6 best through “Believe It,” with Rihanna, in 2020.

Thanks to the new No. 1, PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake share a career milestone with their fourth collaboration to reach Rhythmic Airplay. Here’s a review of the pair’s joint appearances:

  • “Come and See Me” (PARTYNEXTDOOR feat. Drake) – No. 21 peak on the chart dated Nov. 19, 2016
  • “Loyal” (PARTYNEXTDOOR feat. Drake) – No. 10, March 21, 2020
  • “Twist & Turn” (Popcaan feat. PARTYNEXTDOOR & Drake) – No. 30, Nov. 11, 2020
  • “Somebody Loves Me” (PARTYNEXTDOOR & Drake) – No. 1, July 5, 2025

For Drake, “Somebody Loves Me” attaches a 41st No. 1 to his Rhythmic Airplay record for the most No. 1s among all artists since the chart started in October 1992. The superstar extends the gulf between himself and all other acts – Rihanna ranks second with 17 leaders, while The Weeknd sits in third place, with 15 champs.

“Somebody Loves Me” is the third single from PARTYNEXTDOOR and Drake’s $ome $exy $ongs 4 U album, but is the first to feature both artists. Both prior pullouts were Drake solo cuts: “Gimme a Hug” reached No. 4 on Rhythmic Airplay in May, while “Nokia” topped the chart for two weeks that same month.

Elsewhere, “Somebody Loves Me” repeats at its No. 6 high on the plays-based Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, where it added 11% more plays in the latest tracking week. The play increase helps boosts it to 9.2 million in format audience, a 19% week-over-week improvement, and enough to maintain its No. 7 status on the audience-based R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
