Paris Jackson has responded to people who have criticised her for playing a show on the anniversary of her father Michael’s death.
She is scheduled to join Incubus as a supporting act on their upcoming ‘Morning View’ tour in the US, which kicks off in Nashville on June 25, which happens to be the 16th anniversary of the death of her father, the pop superstar Michael Jackson.
On Friday (June 13), Jackson posted on her Instagram Stories that she had come under fire from some of her father’s fans for choosing the play the show on that day.
Saying that people were “mad again” at her, she explained: “One of the tour dates I’m supposed to be going out on tour with Incubus and Manchester Orchestra happens to be June 25, which is a very negative anniversary for me in my life and my family.”

“So, what I guess I have to explain to these people is that when you’re first of three, and you’re not headlining these shows, you don’t pick what date you perform or what time you go on stage to perform, or what city you perform in,” she added.
She went on to say that she felt Incubus were doing her a favour by inviting her on the tour. “So [what], I’m gonna tell ’em, ’Sorry, guys, we can’t perform on this date’? Fuck you.”
Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, from acute propofol and benzodiazepine intoxication, which caused respiratory arrest. His doctor, Conrad Murray, was later convicted of involuntary manslaughter for administering the fatal dose of propofol.
Paris Jackson has previously joined Incubus at shows including The O2 in London earlier this year, in support of the 20th anniversary of their album ‘Morning View’.
The actor, model and musician began making a name for herself in the music industry after sharing her debut solo album ‘Wilted’ back in 2020.
At the start of this year, she shared a video of her experience battling drug and alcohol addiction as a way of celebrating her five years of sobriety.
Before that, she opened up about her upcoming music, saying that the personal topics she explores in the lyrics may be “hard for some people to hear”.
