Paris Hilton wants to collaborate with Charli XCX: “I’m the original brat”

Paris Hilton has said she wants to collaborate with Charli XCX.

Hilton spoke to Billboard ahead of the release of her second album, ‘Infinite Icon’, which comes 18 years after the release of Hilton’s 2006 debut album ‘Paris’, which hosted her biggest song to date, ‘Stars Are Blind’.

While discussing potentially working with Charli XCX, the reality TV icon nodded to ‘Brat Summer’ and proclaimed: “I’m the original brat.”

“Every time I’ve spoken with [Charli],” she added, “She’s like, ‘You’ve always been such an inspiration to my music.’ So I just think it just makes so much sense for us to do a song together.”

Later on in the interview, Hilton said she loved “seeing so many people now who can follow in my footsteps” in creating “their own brands and their own businesses” and “a beautiful life to support themselves.”

Hilton, much like Charli XCX, credits her early DJ career for her sound. “My DJ career has definitely had a massive influence on me and my life and making this album,” she said.

“Performing all around the world at music festivals, for thousands of people and being on stage and just really paying attention to what makes people move and how to create those unforgettable dancefloor moments — I wanted to bring that same energy into the album.”

Similarly, the ‘Apple’ singer promoted her album, ‘Brat’, through a series of ‘Partygirl’ DJ sets and live performances over the summer, one of which saw her joined by Robyn and The xx’s Romy during her set at Glastonbury 2024.

In a four-star review of the record, NME wrote: “It all paints a picture of who XCX is in 2024. Growing pains, grief and aching doubts come alongside self-confidence, celebration and the knowledge of the place XCX holds in the musical landscape – indeed, she kicks off ‘360’ with the knowing: “I went my own way and I made it / I’m your favourite reference baby”.

However, earlier this week, XCX officially declared an end to ‘Brat’ summer, wishing the cultural phenomenon “goodbye forever”.
