Ozzy Osbourne has teamed up with canned water company Liquid Death to sell empty cans of iced tea that contain his DNA.
The new collaboration is dubbed ‘Infinite Ozzy’, and comprises 10 empty cans that the Black Sabbath legend drank from. These cans were then re-sealed to contain his DNA, and are now about to be sold for $450 a piece (£335).
The process of re-sealing the cans was held at a laboratory, and the metal veteran personally signed each one himself. The sale will take place ahead of the huge “final” show that Ozzy and his Black Sabbath bandmates will play in Birmingham next month.
“Once technology and federal law permit, fans can use this DNA to try to clone Ozzy in the future and enjoy him for hundreds of years to come,” Liquid Death’s publicity team said, explaining what sparked the idea for the partnership.

This isn’t the first time that the two have teamed up either. Last summer, the Prince of Darkness made an appearance in an advert for the brand’s ‘Death Dust’ product –an electrolyte drink mix.
In the clip, he was seen rolling up to some kids in his SUV and advising them not to snort the powder. “Whatever you do, don’t try freebasing it and never ever inject it. And don’t even think about boofing it, you little perverts,” he said, before starting to explain what “boofing” is before being cut off.
While it is an unconventional form of music merchandise, the sale of the cans containing Ozzy’s DNA also comes after actor Sydney Sweeney made headlines recently for teaming up with Dr. Squatch to sell soap bars infused with her bathwater – all of which sold out within seconds.
Sabbath’s aforementioned huge farewell concert, dubbed ‘Back To The Beginning’, will be held at Villa Park in Birmingham on July 5. It’ll see frontman Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward perform onstage together for the first time in two decades.
The stacked, star-studded bill boasts an array of heavyweights from the worlds of metal and rock. These include Tool, Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Alice In Chains, Gojira, Anthrax, Smashing Pumpkins‘ Billy Corgan, Guns N’ Roses, KoRn, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and the surviving members of Soundgarden.
Earlier this year, he said he now “can’t walk” as a result of Parkinson’s – but Sharon told NME that his illness “doesn’t affect his voice”.
“He wants to say thank you to everybody,” she explained at Villa Park. “He didn’t have that chance because of his illness, but now he does have the chance.” Sharon added that her husband was doing “really great” at the time and was feeling “very emotional” about the final Sabbath set, and that it was “what he wants”.
A livestream will begin at 3pm BST on July 5, and those who have bought livestream tickets will continue to have access to the concert footage in its entirety for another 48 hours afterwards.
