Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’ Notches Fourth Week Atop Billboard 200

Olivia Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love jumps back to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a fourth nonconsecutive week, rising 2-1 on the list dated Nov. 14. The effort opened atop the chart dated June 27 and has yet to leave the top five in its 21 weeks on the list. In the tracking week ending Nov. 5, the set earned 57,000 equivalent album units in the United States (down 10%), according to Luminate.

Meanwhile, Michael Jackson’s Thriller scares up a Halloween-inspired jump, moonwalking 13-2 for its highest rank in more than 40 years. Elsewhere in the top 10, ILLIT earns its first top 10 charted set with the arrival of BREAK EVEN at No. 6, BigXthaPlug lands his third top 10 with Better Over Time at No. 7, and Queens of the Stone Age achieve their fifth top 10 with Perfecth’s bow at No. 10.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 2,500 ad-supported or 1,000 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new Nov. 14, 2026-dated chart will be posted in full on Billboard‘s website on Nov. 10. For all chart news, follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both X and Instagram.

Of you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’s 57,000 equivalent album units earned in the latest tracking week, SEA units comprise 49,500 (down 10%, equaling 53.33 million on-demand official streams of the set’s tracks; it holds at No. 1 on Top Streaming Albums for a seventh total week), album sales comprise 7,500 (down 8%; it falls 10-11 on Top Album Sales) and TEA units comprise a negligible sum (down 22%).

Rodrigo’s unit total is the smallest for the week’s No. 1 album in more than a year, since SZA’s SOS was tops on the May 3, 2025-dated chart with 52,000.

Michael Jackson’s Thriller vaults 13-2 on the Billboard 200, scoring its highest rank on the list since the spring of 1984, when it logged its 37th and final week at No. 1 on the April 14-dated list. Thriller continues to hold the record for the most weeks atop the list for an album by a singular artist. (Only the film soundtrack to West Side Story spent more weeks at No. 1: 54, in 1962-63.)

In the tracking week of Oct. 30 through Nov. 5 — thus, including Halloween — Thriller earned 55,000 equivalent album units (up 89%), boosted by seasonal spooky streams of the set’s title track, as well as new physical versions of the album that were released. Of that unit total, SEA units comprise 32,000 (up 37%, equaling 34.34 million on-demand official streams of the set’s songs; it moves 14-5 on Top Streaming Albums), album sales comprise 22,000 (up 335%; it rises 14-3 on Top Album Sales) and TEA units comprise 1,000 (up 30%).

On Oct. 30, Thriller was reissued across three new vinyl variants (two color editions and a liquid-filled version) and a cassette tape. The album’s 22,000 sales for the week mark its largest single-week sales sum in nearly four years, since it shifted 23,000 (Dec. 31, 2022-dated list).

Notably, of Thriller’s 22,000 sold in the latest tracking week, vinyl purchases account for 19,000 — the album’s largest sales week on vinyl since Luminate began electronically tracking sales in 1991.

With Thriller’s jump to No. 2, Jackson has his highest rank on the Billboard 200 in more than a decade, since the posthumous album Xscape debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the May 31, 2014-dated chart.

Notably, Thriller has appeared on the Billboard 200 each year since 2009, following Jackson’s death that June. It has resided in the top 20 each week since early May, with 15 consecutive weeks in the top 10 through August, spurred by the record-setting biopic Michael.

The remainder of the top five on the latest Billboard 200 comprises former No. 1s and non-movers, as Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem is No. 3 (49,000 equivalent album units earned, down 7%), followed by Ella Langley’s Dandelion (45,000, down 4%) and Noah Kahan’s The Great Divide (40,000, up 1%).

ILLIT captures its first top 10 on the Billboard 200 as BREAK EVEN bows at No. 6 with 37,000 equivalent album units earned (the group’s best week by units). Of that sum, album sales comprise 32,500 (ILLIT’s best sales week; it debuts at No. 1 on Top Album Sales — the act’s first leader), SEA units total 4,500 (equaling 4.87 million on-demand official streams of the set’s tracks) and TEA units account for a negligible sum.

BREAK EVEN’s album sales were largely driven by its availability across more than 24 CD (all containing collectible items such as photocards, stickers and posters, with some items randomized).

BREAK EVEN is the pop group’s fifth charted entry on the Billboard 200, and first top reach the top 20. The act had previously gone as high as No. 26 with its last title, Mamihlapinatapai, in May.

BigXthaPlug scores his third top 10 on the Billboard 200 as Better Over Time enters at No. 7 — tying for his highest-charting album. He previously hit No. 7 with I Hope You’re Happy in 2025 and No. 8 with Take Care in 2024. The new album launches with 35,000 equivalent album units earned. Of that sum, SEA units comprise 29,000 (equaling 29.06 million on-demand official streams of the set’s tracks; it debuts at No. 7 on Top Streaming Albums), album sales total 6,000 (it debuts at No. 12 on Top Album Sales) and TEA units comprise a negligible sum.

The new album was preceded by a pair of charted hits on the Hot Rap Songs chart: “Lite” (featuring Belly Gang Kushington; No. 25) and “Burn” (featuring Ava Max; No. 16).

Kahan’s Stick Season is stationary at No. 8 on the latest Billboard 200 (33,000 equivalent album units earned, up 2%) and Taylor Swift’s former leader The Life of a Showgirl falls 6-9 (30,000, down 14%).

Rounding out the new top 10 on the Billboard 200 is Queens of the Stone Age’s Perfecth, which debuts at No. 10. The fifth top 10-charted project for the rock band launches with 29,000 equivalent album units earned. Of that sum, album sales comprise 25,000 (it debuts at No. 2 on Top Album Sales, supported by multiple vinyl and CD editions), SEA units comprise 4,000 (equaling 4.14 million on-demand official streams of the set’s tracks) and TEA units comprise a negligible sum.
