Oasis tease reunion announcement after Liam Gallagher’s Reading 2024 set

Oasis have just teased a mysterious date shortly after Liam Gallagher‘s Reading 2024 headline set – could it be a reunion announcement?

The Oasis singer has just finished up his Main Stage headline set at Reading today (August 25), where he’s teased something soon to happen next week.

Following his set, in which he played ‘Definitely Maybe’ in full ahead of its 30th anniversary reissue, the audience could see the date ‘27.08.24’ flashing on Liam’s screens. ‘8am’ could also be spotted flashing along with the date.

But that’s not all – along with Liam posting the date to his X/Twitter account shortly after his set, Noel posted the exact same video to his account as well. On top of that, the official Oasis account posted the video to their own account too.

Interestingly, Blossoms have just played Big Bank Holiday weekend at Manchester – and they, too, showed the same date in the exact same style.

Have they all just teased the announcement date of an Oasis reunion?

Liam also dedicated ‘Half The World Away’ to “Noel fucking Gallagher” at his Reading headline set, and further stoked rumours of an Oasis reunion earlier this Friday (August 23) at his Leeds headline set: “It is very interesting init? It is a very interesting situation we’ve found ourselves in.”

Earlier this week, Liam seemingly teased an Oasis reunion tour announcement date on X/Twitter, supposedly revealing that tour dates would drop “Nxt Friday”.

The pair have been engaged in a long feud since Oasis split in 2009, after the brothers clashed at Paris’ Rock en Seine festival hours before their headline appearance.

However, The Times reported yesterday (August 24) that the duo are looking likely to reunite in order to play a string of gigs, allegedly planned at the likes of Heaton Park and Wembley Stadium next year.

Oasis are also rumoured to be potential headliners for next year’s edition of Glastonbury Festival. If true, the set would come 30 years after the release of their seminal 1995 LP ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’

The rumours also follow Noel’s recent praise of Liam in a conversation with John Robb, saying: “I can’t sing ‘Slide Away’ and ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’ and ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Star’ and ‘Columbia’ and all that.
