Oasis fans who secured tickets to the band’s homecoming reunion shows in Manchester must “opt-in” if they want to access the front standing section.

The Britpop band are set to play their first gigs together in 16 years this summer, kicking off with a run of UK and Ireland dates with Richard Ashcroft and Cast, including seven dates at London’s Wembley Stadium.
Following two opening shows in Cardiff, Liam and Noel Gallagher will finally return to their home city for five nights at the 80,000-capacity Heaton Park.
Today (May 23), promoters issued an important update for those who have secured tickets to the Manchester dates, on behalf of organisers. The email told fans that they would be required to apply online in advance if they hoped to access the section closest to the stage.
“The Safety Advisory Group for the Heaton Park shows have divided the concert arena into two areas: a general admission area and a front standing area, each with a dedicated ticket and entry gate issued in advance,” the message read.
“This is to ensure fan safety and improve the fan experience whilst entering the site.”
It continued: “All general admission ticketholders are being given the opportunity to opt-in to gain access to the front standing area. If the number of opt-in requests exceeds availability, tickets will be allocated at random from the pool of applicants.”
The recipients were then directed to a link, through which they could “request tickets in the front standing area” of their concert.
“The opt-in link is valid and open now until noon on 30th May,” it went on. “Once the opt-in window closes, you’ll receive a follow-up notification no later than 20th June confirming your allocated area and gate entry information.”
The statement concluded: “Please note that opting in applies to your whole order (you can’t split up tickets). If you’re happy to stay in the general admission area, you don’t need to do anything.”
You can opt-in by submitting your ticket details here.
There was just one general standing ticket option for Heaton Park when the Oasis Live ’25 tour dates went on sale last year, whereas their stadium shows had both allocated standing and seating.
Outdoor shows in parks often see organisers use a first-come, first-served wristband system, allowing those who are at the venue early to go in and out of the front section as they please. This was the case when Arctic Monkeys staged two big gigs at Sheffield’s Hillsborough Park in 2023.
Some ticketholders on Reddit have said that the online system for Oasis’ Heaton Park concerts is “unfair”, with one writing: “I wouldn’t have paid what I paid if I had known it was back pit.”
Another said: “They decide this months and months after the tickets go on sale. I doubt those of us that end up in the back will be getting any money back for the ticket downgrade.”
A third user added: “Broken up standing sections are becoming the norm at larger events, to avoid crowd crushes. [Taylor Swift‘s] ‘Eras Tour’ was the same at Wembley, though you had to pay extra for the front bit, so at least here it’s just a free lotto.”
Oasis’ 2025 Manchester tour dates are:
11 – Heaton Park, Manchester
12 – Heaton Park, Manchester
16 – Heaton Park, Manchester
19 – Heaton Park, Manchester
20 – Heaton Park, Manchester
Oasis are currently in rehearsals for Oasis Live ’25, with the massive tour also due to visit North America, South America, Australia, South Korea and Japan.
Back in March, sources close to the shows revealed details of who’ll be playing in the band line-up to NME, before Andy Bell confirmed he would be returning to the fold earlier this month.
