Oasis reunion: Ball Park Music confirmed as supporting act for Australia tour

Longtime Aussie indie rock favourites Ball Park Music have been announced as the special guest for Oasis‘ upcoming reunion tour.

Late last night (April16), Oasis and Live Nation Australia took to social media to make the announcement, confirming that Ball Park Music will be opening for all of their five reunion shows in Australia later this year.

Ball Park Music wrote on Instagram: “Can hardly believe I’m typing this but it’s true, we’ll be supporting the Mancunian legends, the one and only, Oasis on their historic reunion tour when they visit Australia this year. To say we’re pumped is a massive fucking understatement. We. Can. Not. Wait. Let’s fucking get it!”

Oasis are due to perform five shows in Australia between October 31 and November 8, with three shows at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, and two sold out shows at Accor Stadium in Sydney. The October 31 and November 1 shows in Melbourne are sold out, while limited tickets remain for the final November 4 show – you can get any remaining tickets here.

Ball Park Music are the latest act to be announced as Oasis’ support for their reunion treks. Cast and Richard Ashcroft have been as the special guests for the gigs in the UK and Ireland, while Cage The Elephant will support in North America and Mexico.

Supporting acts for the band’s Asia and South American dates have yet to be announced.

In anticipation of the monumental reunion tour, which kicks off on July 4 in Cardiff, sources close to the band told NME that the band’s line-up will include Andy Bell, Gem Archer, Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs and Joey Waronker, alongside Noel and Liam Gallagher.

Ball Park Music’s addition to Oasis’ Australia tour comes just weeks after the Aussie indie heroes released their latest album ‘Like Love’, which debuted at the Number One spot in the country.

‘Like Love’ marks the Australian band’s eighth studio album, and their first ever to reach the top spot on the ARIA Album Charts – it also makes them the first Australian act to top the ARIA album charts this year.
