The 1994 stand-alone single, which was released on December 18 months after their debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’ that year, was re-issued on Friday (February 21) in pink and blue splatter vinyl featuring remastered audio B-side ‘(It’s Good) To Be Free’.

While the band has never had a Christmas Number One, they came close that year, with only enduring Christmas classics ‘Stay Another Day’ by East 17 and Mariah Carey‘s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ keeping it off the top spot.

The single is currently battling it out with Kendrick Lamar‘s ‘Not Like Us’ which is currently at Number Two in the UK singles chart and only 500 units behind and Chappell Roan‘s ‘Pink Pony Club, which is at Number Three, according to the Official Charts Company.

Speaking about the video for the track with Alan Carr previously, Noel Gallagher explained that he had a big night out before the shoot.

“I was very drunk that day. I had been out all night. What I’m wearing, you don’t usually wear that kind of stuff on a video shoot,” he said at the time.

“I’d been out the night before to the pub. I woke up in a bus shelter in Maida Vale.”

He continued: “It was before the days of mobile phones and I didn’t know where the video shoot was and I didn’t have any way of getting in touch with anybody.

“Someone from the record label just happened to be passing in a car when I was trying to hail a taxi even though I didn’t know where I was going, but it made for a good video.”

Later this week, the band will reissue a 25th anniversary reissue of their fourth studio album ‘Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants’.

The new version of the record is due to arrive on Friday (February 28) – the same date the original album was released back in 2000. It’ll be available on a limited edition vinyl silver LP, and an official store-exclusive blue and purple marble LP.

‘Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants’ was released on Liam and Noel Gallagher’s own label Big Brother Recordings Ltd. Lead single ‘Go Let It Out’ marked the first material on the label. Big Brother was launched in January 2000, after the sudden closure of Oasis’ former UK label Creation Records. You can pre-order the 25th anniversary edition of Oasis’ ‘Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants’ here.

Four videos from the album also recently got the remastered treatment and are being released every Friday at 12pm GMT until March 7.

The news comes after the band announced a special 15th anniversary edition of their compilation album ‘Time Flies… 1994 – 2009’ for Record Store Day 2025. Last year, they released a 30th anniversary version of their seminal debut ‘Definitely Maybe’. This followed a reissue to mark 25 years of ‘(What’s The Story) Morning Glory?’ in 2020.

Oasis are set to embark on a massive comeback tour this year, marking their first live shows together since 2009. The highly-anticipated trek will begin with a run of stadium gigs in the UK and Ireland this summer, followed by a string of dates in North America.

The group will then return for two extra shows at London’s Wembley Stadium in late September, before heading to South Korea and Japan. Further concerts are scheduled in Australia ahead of the extensive tour finishing up in South America this November.

For the UK and Ireland leg, Oasis will be supported by Richard Ashcroft and Cast. The North American dates feature Cage The Elephant as the opening act.
