Noel and Liam Gallagher’s brother Paul appears in court charged with rape and sexual assault

Paul Gallagher, the older brother of Oasis stars Liam and Noel, has appeared in court charged rape and sexual assault.

The 59-year-old was charged last month by Scotland Yard with a string of violent sex offences. It came following an investigation that opened last year, and accusations allegedly include rape, sexual assault, threats to kill and coercive control, according to The Telegraph.

Last month, Metropolitan Police said that the alleged offences took place “between 2022-2024”, and included “three counts of sexual assault, three counts of intentional strangulation, two counts of making a threat to kill”.

Today (Wednesday August 27), he appeared for a five-minute hearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court. Sky News report that he spoke to confirm his name, age and address, but has not yet entered any pleas.

He has been bailed for a further appearance scheduled for September 24 at Harrow Crown court.

Paul is one year older than Noel and seven years older than Liam, and has worked previously as a photographer and DJ. He was listed as ‘tour DJ’ in the Oasis’ 2025 tour programme, but it has been reported that he hasn’t been on the road with the band for their recent run of live shows.

On the day that Paul was in court, Oasis are at the start of their North American tour which kicked off in Toronto this week.

The Telegraph reported last month that the North London flat that he lives in now, based in East Finchley, was bought for him by Noel in 2004. While he grew up with Liam and Noel in Burnage, Manchester, he has never been involved in the Britpop band.
